Mothership Fire Update
Taos Mesa Brewing is sad to report that at approximately 2:30 AM on July 2nd 2020, our Mothership location suffered significant fire and smoke damage. Luckily, no one was injured in the blaze. The Taos Country Fire Marshall and Taos Fire Department were quick to respond and mitigate the fire. We are very thankful for our first responders. We were hoping to re-open the Motherhship along side the Tap Room for take out service beginning on July 2nd. Unfortunately, the Mothership will remain closed until we can assess the situation and begin to rebuild.
Your support during this time is deeply appreciated.

7/6/20: At this point in time TMB is unable to release any photos due to an on going investigation.

7/10/20: Both the Taos County Fire Marshall and TMB's insurance company's fire inspector have concluded their initial investigations. The fire has been deemed accidental and the cause is inconclusive. These photos give you a small glimpse of the fire damage. The next steps are professional clean up, then comes evaluating the structural integrity of the building. TMB has meetings all next week with professional engineers, sound equipment experts, and many more experts to determine the extent of the damage to the building and its contents. The road to rebuilding is going to be a long and winding path. If we open the Mothership in 2020, it will not be until winter. We will keep you updated with our progress. Thanks for all your support.

7/13/20: Smoke Damage clean up has started. All our inside dining tables and chairs have been taken to remove the smoke from them. Since we never opened for dine-in service you would not know it, but we recently moved all our high top tables and bar stools from our taproom location to the Mothership.

7/18/20: Weekly update for the community. TMB's insurance company has completed their initial assessment of the damage. There was a minimal amount of cleaning done in order to prep for the demolition crew to come in next week. We will keep you posted. Please be mindful that this is a long and arduous process. Thank you for your support!

7/25/20: It has been another week of smoke damaged items being taken for cleaning and testing. TMB's sound system is almost all out of the venue, our POS system and other electronics are gone. The draft system has been removed and the deconstruction of the walls and stage started Wednesday. Smoke gets into everything! We have posted pictures below of the process and a video is on our GoFundMe page.

8/7/20: Albuquerque Journal article published today. https://www.abqjournal.com/1483258/beverage-el-prado.html

10/28/20: Our initial insurance assessment and smoke and fire mitigation are complete. Now, we are finalizing our plans to rebuild the Mothership. At this time, the TMB board is planning for a Spring 2021 re-opening. While we do not know what the fate of live performances will be at that time (many industry professionals do not anticipate a return to live music until 2022), we are looking forward to COVID safe outdoor dining and music.

Thank you,
The Taos Mesa Brewing Team
